The English Education department has created a unique project at Kimyo International University in Tashkent in association with Norwich Institute for Language Education (NILE), Norwich, UK. For the first time in Uzbekistan, students receive education in content and language integrated learning (CLIL) and have the opportunity to work as teachers of English, as well as Literature and History or Physics and Mathematics. Students who graduate from the Faculty of English Education become international specialists and have the opportunity to work in private and public schools, colleges, and lyceums. The main advantage of studying at Kimyo University at the Faculty of English Education is the qualified teaching staff. Established in 2021, the department of English Education currently consists of 8 full-time teachers and one part-time teacher. The staff conducts classes for students of the English Education direction, using modern methods and technologies in their lessons. The department staff is interested in various areas of research in teaching English, especially the use of information technology in teaching, intercultural competence, modern literature, and second language acquisition (SLA). In 2021, the department participated in the "Change Academy" project. The project team has developed a system of student autonomy to involve students in the educational process and develop cooperation between teachers and students. In 2021, the university hosted a TEDx event, which was also organized by the Department of English Education.
The staff of the department is continuously working on their professional development. In January 2022, the department teachers completed the CELTA course. In the summer of the same year, they took advanced training courses in the UK on Materials Design and Language Assessment. Several teachers are currently studying in the TESOL diploma program and working on PhD dissertations.

Has been working at KIUT since 2018, head of the English education department since 2021. Graduated from Uzbek State World Languages University with a Master’s degree in English linguistics in 2013. In 2021 she received a certificate in English language teaching to adults (CELTA). Her areas of interest are second language acquisition, especially the influence of the mother tongue on the language learning process. In June 2022 she participated in the Regional TESOL conference held in Tashkent. In August 2022 she had a short-term course on Materials Development in the UK and now she is working on the syllabus for the Materials Design course for English Education students.
Sevara Irgasheva is a Senior lecturer at KIUT and has more than 15 years of experience in ELT, starting as an assistant teacher at UzSWLU. She has taught English language skills and aspects for many years at the Uzbekistan State World Languages University, Scientific Research Institute named after A.Avloniy, and Kimyo International University in Tashkent. Teaching is an honourable profession, and she is very passionate about pursuing it as a career. Her motivation to become a great teacher comes from her mentors, who have played the role of amazing teachers in her life. So, one of Sevara’s ambitions is to play such a role in her learners’ lives.

In 2020, she assisted in opening the English Education Faculty at KIUT, and she has been a designer of all syllabi for Literature Courses since then. In 2022, he designed the course “XXI Century Skills” which integrates Digital Literacy and life skills for first-year students. The main areas of his interest are Academic Writing, Literature and Materials Design.

Risolatkhon designed several courses like “Vocabulary”, “Teaching Young Learners”, and “Planning Teaching Process”. The main areas of her interest are methodology and using IT in teaching English. Currently, she is working on her research for PhD.

Currently working on PhD in Psycholinguistics. Ivan is interested in TESOL and teaching content through English because he has always enjoyed learning languages and analyzing how others learn them. Not only languages but also the processes taking place in the human brain while learning are the areas of interest for him. Ivan wants to obtain a deeper understanding of how to learn and teach languages and content more effectively and quickly. At the moment, he is particularly interested in teaching Literary Theory, XXI-century Skills, and ESP to Civil Engineers and Architects.
