Description
Name of the project: Implementing master degrees in environmental engineering through sustainable transition and societal change (GREENDT)
Project number: 101179013 — GREENDT — ERASMUS-EDU-2024-CBHE
Project implementation period: 01.12.2024– 30.11.2027
Objectives of the project
The primary goal of GREENDT is to empower staff and students in Uzbekistan Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the field of Environmental Engineering (EE) by transferring knowledge from European Union (EU) HEIs. This initiative aligns with the European Commission Green Deal priority, aiming for a sustainable transition in environmental protection. The central focus is on enhancing the competencies and skills of Uzbekistan HEI students through the development of an innovative education program (Master Degree). This program aims to foster the exchange of best practices, collaboration between Uzbekistan and European HEIs in EE, and boost students' entrepreneurship, thereby improving their employability through innovation.
Goals of the project:
- Develop a Master's curriculum aligned with the "Green Deal" in Environmental Engineering (EE) to enhance relevance for the labor market, industry, and EU partner HEI experiences;
- Results and Indicators include analyzing existing education standards, developing innovative Master's curriculum and teaching materials, establishing mobility agreements with EU HEIs, and creating educational recommendations;
- Develop EE-Lab standards and establish EE-Labs at all 5 UZ HEIs, supporting research, scientific collaboration, and industry engagement;
- Results and Indicators encompass researching environmental laboratories, developing EE-Lab standards, establishing 5 EE-Labs with special equipment, and engaging students in research activities;
- Implement digital transformation in EE education and science, incorporating innovative methods and ICT-based teaching;
- Results and Indicators involve eliminating the digital skills gap, developing distance learning and digital literacy, focusing on Data infrastructure, improving evaluation mechanisms, and enhancing the level of digital competence for teachers, students, staff, and researchers.
Expected Results:
- 1 ECTS-accredit of EE Master Degrees;
- 12 new development courses for the master program;
- Create didactic materials;
- Establish of 5 new EE laboratories (KIUT, JizPI, FerPI, ASTI, CAGU);
- 1 E-learning platform (This online platform will be free for all learners);
- 1 web platform (The website will be focused on informing the general public about project lifes, meetings, training sessions, webinars, and important events);
- 1 E-society platform (Establish an E-society in Uzbekistan to address environmental issues and foster collaborative solutions for sustainable development in Central Asia);
- Establishment of conditions for student mobility.
