Delegation of Kimyo International University in Tashkent (KIUT) Paid an Official Visit to the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) in London

On July 24, 2025, a delegation from Kimyo International University in Tashkent (KIUT) visited the headquarter of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) in London, United Kingdom.

The visit focused on strengthening friendly relations between Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom, expanding mutually beneficial cooperation, exploring best practices in management and leadership, and enhancing academic potential.

The meeting was opened by the leadership of CMI, who emphasized the importance of international collaboration and the implementation of high standards in education. CMI is the only organization in the UK operating under a Royal Charter and holds the authority to award the globally recognized "Chartered Manager" status.

During the visit, KIUT Rector, Professor Karimjon Akhmedjanov, delivered a detailed presentation on the university’s recent achievements, its participation in international projects, initiatives to improve the research environment, and the wide range of opportunities being created for students.

With CMI accreditation, KIUT will be able to offer dual-degree academic programs that combine national academic standards with prestigious international professional certifications. These dual-degree academic programs significantly enhances the global value of university diplomas and boosts graduates' competitiveness in the job market. Moreover, KIUT students will have the opportunity to continue their academic journey at over 130 UK universities partnered with CMI, including through specialized top-up programs for holders of Level 5 Diplomas.

This kind of international academic cooperation will improve graduate employment prospects, meet the demands of the global labor market, and align with Uzbekistan’s strategic priorities in modernization, innovation, and global integration.

It is especially worth noting that CMI accreditation is not only valuable for students but also significantly benefits faculty, researchers, and the university itself, elevating KIUT’s prestige and reputation on the international stage.

Key areas of cooperation identified include:

  • Enabling students to obtain internationally recognized diplomas and qualifications through dual accreditation with CMI;
  • Granting KIUT Approved Centre status to deliver and assess CMI-certified courses;
  • Certifying bespoke training programs that meet CMI standards;
  • Providing students and faculty access to professional resources, mentoring, CPD opportunities, and international networks through CMI membership;
  • Strengthening the university’s brand and reputation, including improving its position in global rankings such as QS.

Today, CMI has more than 230,000 members and over 100,000 active learners across more than 170 countries.

At the conclusion of the visit, both parties reached an agreement to formalize their cooperation, develop joint programs, and expand strategic partnership efforts.
