“Fashion Design” Department 

"Fashion Design" is one of the directions, opened in the 2019-2020 academic year at the Kimyo International University in Tashkent which is oriented on art education. On the basis of the educational program, the academic department "Fashion Design" was founded in 2020. The educational process at the department is aimed to provide high-quality art education and training qualified specialists. To achieve this goal, the curriculum is built in conjunction with theoretical and practical disciplines. Most disciplines are focused on practical creative activities, where students work on clothing collections for various groups and categories.  Based on the requirements of employers and current trends in the field of fashion, the curriculum includes the disciplines "Digital Fashion Design", "Fashion Illustration", "Fashion Photography", which are held in specially equipped laboratories in the form of practical exercises. Within these disciplines, students receive the most relevant and demanded knowledge for their professional activities. For example, one of the most modern programs for virtual clothing design, - Clo 3D, was integrated into the educational process, which makes it possible to work through all stages of clothing creation, up to the visualization of the final result.

Research interests: Art history and Theory, History of Design, History of Fashion. Scientific branch: Design History and Theory (17.00.05) Biography She completed her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees at the National Institute of Art and Design named after Kamoliddin Behzod in 2016, specializing in the History and Theory of Fine Arts. She also completed a pre-degree program in Art and Design at Auckland University of Technology (New Zealand). She began her pedagogical career at the National Institute of Art and Design in the Department of Art History and Theory. Since 2020, she has been serving as the Head of the “Fashion Design” Department at Kimyo International University in Tashkent. Her primary research interests include the theory and history of design, costume history, and fashion history. She is the author of a number of articles on the history and theory of visual arts. She teaches the theoretical disciplines “History of Costume” and “History of Fashion”. She is currently working on her research for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Art Studies, specialty 17.00.05 — History and Theory of Design, which focuses on the study of cultural codes in design.

Since 2020 has been working as an Assistant Professor at the Fashion Design department of Kimyo International University in Tashkent. A member of the Association of Artists at the Academy of Fine Arts of Uzbekistan, “Design” section. She has 25 years of experience in pedagogical work. Ayrin Allabergenova is an author of a number of articles, and textbooks devoted to Fashion Design, as well has worked as a curator of fashion shows. In 2022, at the 79th Venice Film Festival, the film "Bro" where she worked as a costume designer, was included in the list of masterpieces of world cinematography. Conducts lectures and practical classes in such disciplines as Construction, Methodology of Design, and Fashion Media.

Mukhtabar Shomansurova has been a member of the Fashion Design department since 2020. The scope of her scientific research is the design and modeling of garments; the development of automated integrated information systems (CAD/CAM/ERP) for the technological preparation of various clothing and knitwear production; using 3D systems in the clothing design process and improving the process. Mukhtabar Shomansurova is a member of the attestation commission of the Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry. She is the leading lecturer of the Paris International Fashion Academy, a representative of such companies as: Gerber Lectra Technology (Turkey), Gemini CAD system (Romania), Polen CAD (Turkey), and Alvanon (Hong Kong) in Tashkent.

Research interests: Clothing design and manufacturing technology Scientific branch: Costume design and Technology of sewing garments (05.06.04) Biography Graduted from Tashkent Institute of Light Industry and Textile, the faculty of Light Industry. Before starting her teaching job she worked in custom tailoring. Since 2020, she is a member of “Fashion Design” department at Kimyo International University in Tashkent. She works in various techniques of creating garments, especially teaches students to work in “Müller & Sohn” technique.

Since 2020 has been working as a teacher at the Fashion Design department of Kimyo International University in Tashkent. She started her pedagogical career in Modeling and Technology of Clothing in 2007. Author of several scientific articles. Conducts lectures and practical classes in disciplines of Modelling and Technical Basic Design. She is working on her scientific research work "Development of Special Competence of Students in Fashion Design in an Electronic Educational Environment."

Fields of research – digital fashion, modeling in Clo 3D; using digital programs in modeling various clothes. Conducts such practical disciplines as Construction, Modelling, and Digital Fashion Design.

Since 2022 has been working at the Fashion Design department at Kimyo International University in Tashkent. Has extensive experience in light industry and garment production. Over the years she has worked in various manufactures as a clothing designer. Conducts classes in such disciplines as Computer Design (Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw programs), Textile Design, Construction.

Research interests: Clothing materials, Technology and modelling of sewing garments Scientific branch: Theory and methodology of education and training (13.000.02) Biography Zakhro Samikova started her pedagogical career in 2007. Since 2021, she has been working at Kimyo International University in Tashkent, Fashion Design Department. In 2005, she received a Bachelor's degree and in 2007, a Master's degree from Tashkent State Pedagogical University named after Nizami. She is the author of a number of national and international scientific articles and textbooks.

Research interests: Fashion design, Technology and modelling of sewing garments Scientific branch: Costume design and Technology of sewing garments (05.06.04) Biography Graduated from the Tashkent Institute of Light Industry and Textiles, Fashion Design faculty. After obtaining Master’s degree, started his pedagogical career at Kimyo International University in Tashkent in 2020. He has a practical experience in custom tailoring. Saidakrom participated in various Fashion Shows, like Uzbekistan Fashion Week with his clothing collections. He is working on his doctoral research as an independent joint researcher to obtain a PhD degree in Technical Sciences.

Since 2020 has been working as a teacher at the Fashion Design department of Kimyo International University in Tashkent. She started her pedagogical career in 2010. Author of the fashion column “Fashion and Style” of the local newspaper Sharq. In 2020 developed historical and national sketches for the folklore ensembles of Tashkent region - "Turgay", "Kaldirgoch" and "Okhangaron Yulduzlari", which was organized by international fund "Oltin Meros", the National Center of Archeology under the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Research interests: art studies, cultural studies, design, museology. Scientific branch: Art Studies (17.00.04), Painting Collections in the Museums of Uzbekistan, 20th-Century Sculpture, Contemporary Art of Uzbekistan Biography Since 2025, Kultasheva Nigora has been working at the Kimyo International University in Tashkent as the Acting Professor of the Department of Fashion Design. She holds a PhD in Art History and Theory. She began her teaching career in 2007 at the Republican Design College (now the Specialized School of Design). In 2012, she was the Head of the Department of “Art of Western European Countries and Russia” at the State Art Museum of Uzbekistan. Since 2017, she has been a lecturer at the National Institute of Arts and Design named after Kamoliddin Bekhzod, initially at the Department of “History and Theory of Fine Arts” where she was appointed Associate Professor in 2023. From 2022 to 2025, she was appointed as a Head of the “History and Theory of Fine Arts” department. Kultasheva N. D. is the author of one monograph, four textbooks, two scientific patents, and approximately forty research articles.

Research interests: Modern methods of garment construction and pattern modeling; digital technologies in fashion design (CAD/CAM, 3D modeling); ergonomics and anthropometric foundations of clothing construction; materials science and innovative textile structures; optimization of structural and technological processes in garment manufacturing; development of functional and adaptive clothing; engineering approaches to technical aesthetics and form-making in costume; methods of teaching fashion design and project-based disciplines; development of creative and design thinking in fashion design students; pedagogical technologies in art and design education. Scientific branch: 13.00.05 – "Theory, Methodology, and Organization of Socio-Cultural Activities" (Pedagogical group of disciplines); 5.10.3 – "Art Forms (Technical Aesthetics and Design)" ("Social sciences and Humanities" group of disciplines in the field of "Art History and Cultural Studies"). Biography: Since 2024, Vera Poplevina has been affiliated with the Fashion Design Department at Kimyo International University in Tashkent, where she holds the position of Associate Professor. Being a Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences she has over 30 years of experience in the clothing industry (engineer-technologist-designer) and 12 years of teaching experience. The overall list of published scientific and educational-methodical works includes 52 publications, among them: 2 monographs, 3 textbooks, 3 educational-methodological manuals on the disciplines taught, as well as 44 articles in journals and publications recommended by the Higher Attestation Commission (HAC) and indexed in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI). From 2004 to 2009, she worked as an engineer specializing in garment design at the Moscow Institute of the Fashion Industry (Moscow, Russia). Between 2004 and 2010, she served as a designer-technologist at Anver LLC, Fashion Laboratory (Tambov, Russia). From 2013 to 2018, she held the position of Senior Lecturer in the Department of Design and Applied Arts at Tambov State University named after G.R. Derzhavin (Tambov, Russia), and (2018 - 2024) she served as Associate Professor in the Department of Design and Fine Arts (Tambov, Russia). Additionally, from 2000 to 2024, she was the director and designer-technologist of the atelier-studio “Modistka”
