The English Language Department was established in accordance with the rector’s initiative in 2018 and it is one of the biggest educational and scientific structural units of the Kimyo International University in Tashkent. Currently, the department staff consists of 15 full-time teachers, two foreign teachers, and 7 part-time teachers. Teachers of the department take CPD courses on a regular basis. In 2022, 6 department teachers completed the CELTA course with NILE, England, and 2 teachers took the TESOL course. In the summer of the same year, they took advanced training courses in the UK on CLIL and Materials Design. Several teachers are studying in the research writing MA program at Westminster International University and Trinity Certificate for Practicing Teachers qualification, the UK. The department staff is interested in various areas of research in teaching English, especially the use of information technology in teaching ESP such as tourism and medical English, intercultural competence, and methodology courses.
Students are involved in different Educational, Social, and Cultural events organized by the department. The department organizes the Spelling Bee contest, the Earth Day Exhibition, and the Culture Day celebration annually. Since 2019 The Republican Students’ Conference has been organized annually. Clubs (Speaking Club, IELTS writing Club, and Movie Club) are run by the department to help university students improve their English.

Head of English Language Department since 2021, has 19 years of teaching experience in Higher Educational Institutions, CELTA (NILE) holder, completed a course in CLIL at NILE, Norwich, UK. She took the Trinity Course for Practising Teachers (CertPT) which is an in-service vocational teaching qualification at Level 6 on Ofqual’s Regulated Qualifications Framework. Dilfuza Tursunova is the author of 20 scientific articles and has worked as a member of different international projects like PRESETT and Change Academy.
ESL teacher, PhD/TEFL/TESOL holder, Trainer of Trainers. Grand holder of Tempus IMG (UZB1043-2004) in the framework of the European Commission Tempus Programme; conducted a short-term teaching course of Business English at the Perugia University (Italy), assistant professor at Kimyo International University in Tashkent, chairperson of the Examination Board on English Proficiency tests for PhD candidates of Economic Sciences under the Supreme Attestation Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Professor, a Westminster University honors graduate in Modern Languages (Chinese/French), specializing in translation. He has been teaching English in tertiary institutions and the government and private sector in Europe, the Middle East, China, and S.E. Asia since 1982. He is TEFL-certified and a certified Spanish -English translator. He has been a resident of Uzbekistan since 2015.
Senior lecturer at Kimyo International University in Tashkent since August 2021. Ahmed Basyoni has 15 years of experience in scientific and pedagogical work. His research interests mainly include education, teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL), teaching English as a second language (TESL), Sociolinguistics, and Applied Linguistics. He published more than 6 papers in various international journals besides participating in regional and international conferences.
Senior ESP teacher with 25 years of teaching experience, holder of several international certificates, completed a course in CLIL at Nile in Norwich, UK, author of a number of scientific publications in local and international journals, participated in various conferences as well as attended courses for teachers’ professional development.
Senior Teacher, a TESOL and CELTA-certified educator with 8 years of experience teaching English as a Foreign Language, material designer on Practical English for Tourism course, completed a course in CLIL at NILE in Norwich, UK, and has over 10 publications in local and international journals. An ESL/EFL teacher with more than 15 years of experience. Developed a syllabus for Young Learners course and completed a course in CLIL at NILE in Norwich, UK. Laziza Abdullaeva has her articles published and is now working on a study guide, has experience in teaching learners of all ages in multi-faceted classes. Laziza conducted a teacher training for colleagues while working as a head teacher at an English teaching center, and successfully completed a “Public Speaking Course” and “Awareness in Digital Literacy” course.

Has successfully completed “Blended Language Learning: Design and Practice for Teachers” an online non-credit course authorized by the University of Colorado Boulder and offered through Coursera. Has successfully completed Teach English Now! Teaching Language Online is an online non-credit course authorized by Arizona State University and offered through Coursera. During the years organized Public Speaking and Earth Day contests among students. She published an article in Scopus on the topic “Effective Combination of Different Teaching Methods, Teaching Models and Technologies in Blended Learning”. Attendant ‘Materials Development for Language Education” course held at Norwich Institute for Language Education (NILE) in Norwich.
Sabina Melieva is an English language instructor. Has 5 years of pedagogical and scientific experience. Graduated from Uzbekistan World Languages University, holder of Master's degree in Linguistics (English language) and IELTS certificate (7.5). For the last 3 years, she has been teaching students of various levels, has created materials and syllabi for students, and published scientific articles in local and international journals.
Has more than 3 years of teaching experience in English and Literature. She studied at Webster University in Tashkent and graduated in 2019 with an MA degree in TESOL. Conducts practical classes for Bachelors in General English. Her main areas of interest are TESOL and using innovative digital tools in teaching English.
