Delegation of Kimyo International University in Tashkent Explores Advanced US Healthcare System

A delegation of Kimyo International University in Tashkent, led by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Mr. Rod Powell, is currently on an official visit to the United States.

This visit marks a significant step in the development of the university's medical programs, providing an opportunity to study the best practices of the US healthcare system and integrate them into the university’s educational framework. The delegation members explored the clinic's innovative approaches and discussed the prospects of implementing them in university medical facilities.

On February 17, the delegation, consisting of Vice-Rector Rod Powell and department heads Akmal Rustamov and Shohjahon Elmurodov, visited the Providence Heart Clinic - St. Vincent in Portland, USA.

Dr. Gary Ott provided the guests with a detailed overview of the hospital’s operational system, the patient admission and registration processes, as well as the medical insurance and payment system. During the visit, the delegation gained an in-depth understanding of how patient treatment is structured, how the insurance system functions, and how medical services are managed within a fully integrated healthcare system.

At Providence Heart Clinic - St. Vincent, all stages of patient care—from initial consultation to full recovery—are interconnected within a single system, significantly streamlining the workflow for doctors and medical staff. Additionally, the automated insurance system ensures that patients’ financial expenses are efficiently managed, making the treatment process even more accessible and convenient.
