
Japanese Companies Visit Kimyo International University in Tashkent: Another Key Step Toward Bilateral Cooperation
The strong and steadily developing relationship between Uzbekistan and Japan has reached another tangible milestone. In June 2025, Kimyo International University in Tashkent (KIUT) welcomed a distinguished delegation comprising representatives of Japan’s leading companies — a significant moment in the university’s history.
This visit reflected Japan’s strong commitment to building a skilled workforce, strengthening international cooperation, and fostering knowledge exchange.
The delegation included:
- Mr. Keiichi Yoshi — CEO and Chairman of Daiwa House Industry Co., Ltd.
- Mr. Shinji Tanioka — General Manager, Southeast & South Asia Business Department
- Ms. Junko Ishizaki — Special Assistant to the CEO
- Mr. Yasushi Nishikawa — Deputy Manager, Overseas Business Division
- Mr. Mukhsin Achilov — Deputy Director, Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co., Ltd.
During the visit, the guests met with the university’s founder, Professor Alisher Vakhabov, to discuss potential cooperation in education, governance, innovation, and human capital development.
Key areas of discussion:
- Training highly qualified specialists for Japanese companies;
- Creating internship and employment opportunities in Japan for KIUT graduates;
- Collaborating on scientific research and applied projects.
The delegation also toured the Kimyo University Hospital, state-of-the-art laboratories, and lecture halls. They expressed strong impressions of the university’s academic environment, infrastructure, and innovative approach.
At the conclusion of the visit, both sides agreed to continue building mutually beneficial and long-term cooperation. Such interactions will undoubtedly contribute to strengthening the friendly and strategic ties between Japan and Uzbekistan.
