“Quality Assurance for Reform and Transformation of Higher Educational Institutions in Uzbekistan”


Today, June 18th, at Varna University of Management in Bulgaria, the first meeting took place regarding project #101127171, "QUARTZ – Quality Assurance for Reform and Transformation of Higher Educational Institutions in Uzbekistan," coordinated by Kimyo International University in Tashkent within the framework of the European Union’s “Erasmus+” program. The meeting was Todor Radev, Rector of Varna University of Management, and Karimjon Akhmedjanov, acting Rector of Kimyo International University in Tashkent, who congratulated the participants on the initial phase of the project and wished success to the meeting’s proceedings.

According to the agenda for the first day, following the opening remarks, presentations were made by the participating institutions: Varna University of Management (VUM), Universita Degli Studi Dell’Aquila (UnivAQ) from Italy, Kimyo International University in Tashkent (KIUT), Central Asian University (CAU), the Urgench branch of Tashkent University of Information Technologies (UbTUIT), and the Silk Road International University of Tourism (SRIUT).

During the first day’s session, discussions covered the goals and objectives, strategy and work plan, phases of the project, and the roles, timelines, and financial aspects of the participants. Notably, the project’s three-year duration encompasses various stages (WP1, WP2, WP3, WP4, WP5), during which tasks will be carried out, results from surveys conducted by KIUT regarding the quality of education and proposed measures were also reviewed. The seminar-training featured an active question and answer session on these topics.

Additionally, a photo session was organized for the project participants.
