Kimyo International University in Tashkent (KIUT) is the first private higher education institution in the Republic of Uzbekistan, established in 2018 in Tashkent under the name Yeoju Technical Institute. The university operates based on relevant resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the State Inspectorate for Education Quality Control, and state license №OT 0002 (033297).
KIUTis a practical result of cooperation between the governments of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea in transferring technologies and innovations into the education sector. The university offers education in Uzbek, Russian, and English. Academic activities are conducted by international and local faculty members who graduated from leading universities in South Korea, the USA, the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Japan, and Malaysia.
Currently, KIUTconsists of 5 academic schools, where more than 40,000 students study in 38 undergraduate and 22 graduate programs. In the 2021/2022 academic year, a branch was opened in Namangan, and in 2022/2023 another branch started operating in Samarkand.
The university also offers 29 PhD programs, aimed at developing scientific potential, conducting modern research, and training highly qualified scholars and specialists who can contribute to the scientific and technological advancement of Uzbekistan. These programs cover the university’s main academic fields — engineering, business and economics, natural sciences, arts, and medicine.
KIUT became one of the first private universities in Uzbekistan to receive accreditation certificates from international accreditation agencies KAZSEE and IQAA. The university holds all required licenses, and the diploma issued by KIUT is fully recognized in Uzbekistan.
The primary mission of KIUT is to train globally competitive, intellectually capable, socially responsible professionals who can actively contribute to societal development through innovative knowledge, modern technologies, and international academic standards. KIUT creates an educational environment that supports scientific research, promotes independent thinking, and encourages creativity and innovation.
