A scientific school in the field of Translation studies is being formed at Kimyo International University in Tashkent. The Department of Translation Studies of our university conducts a number of PhD studies on modern language, literature and translation issues. An international symposium was held from April 11 to 12 at University of Aveiro in Portugal, which ranks 344th in the ranking of the 1000 best universities in the world according to QS World University Rankings. The conference was attended by scientists from more than 15 countries around the world. From our university DSc Gulnoza Odilova and an independent researcher Mokhina Khamidova also participated at the prestigious conference. They gave a lecture on the topic "Cultural aspects of food discourse in children's literature (based on the example of the Eastern and the Western literature)." Close cooperation was also established with the Department of Language and Culture of the University of Aveiro. As a result of the negotiations, it is planned to establish an interdepartmental exchange of professors and teachers, and implement projects for the translation of Uzbek and Portuguese children's literature with the involvement of students.
