At Kimyo International University in Tashkent, an official PhD dissertation defense was held for the first time, integrating the fields of digital medicine, traumatology, and orthopedics.
On December 12, 2025, during a meeting of the University’s Academic Council, young researcher Akbarjon Mirzayev successfully defended his PhD dissertation entitled “Improving the surgical treatment of aseptic necrosis of the femoral head in the early period after coronavirus infection.”
The research focuses on a serious complication that may occur in some patients after COVID-19 — aseptic necrosis of the femoral head. The study proposes methods for early diagnosis of the disease, as well as effective treatment approaches based on modern surgical techniques and the application of digital medicine technologies.
According to specialists, the research findings are of significant practical importance for medical practice and may contribute to improving the quality of life of many patients in the future.
The members of the Academic Council and leading experts highly evaluated the dissertation and made a positive decision to award Akbarjon Mirzayev the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Medicine.
