BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN "SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT SYSTEMS" WILL BE ESTABLISHED IN THE UNIVERSITIES OF UZBEKISTAN
On March 1, 2024 the project "Launching of Bachelor's Degree in Sustainable Transport Systems" ("SPHERE") within the framework of Erasmus+ program of the European Union with 4 higher education institutions of Uzbekistan was launched.
On March 12-13, an official conference on the launch of the "SPHERE" project was held at Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the conference, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Kongratbay Sharipov spoke about the importance of this project in terms of further ensuring the financial sustainability of higher education institutions in Uzbekistan and strengthening their material and technical base.
"The launch of the new project "SPHERE" with a total cost of 800,000 euros will make an effective contribution to the development of the sphere of green transportation in our country. Within the framework of the project, it is planned to organize a bachelor's degree educational course "Sustainable Transport Systems" in the participating universities of Uzbekistan," the minister stressed.
During the event, the audience was provided with detailed information on the measures to be implemented under the project.
The project is planned to be implemented in 2024-2027, during which the participating universities will be provided with the necessary laboratory equipment, software and literature, and 72 professors will be trained in European universities. Bachelor's and Master's degree programs will be developed, including at least 70 new courses.
At the same time, it is planned to train professionals from at least 10 different interested companies in the field of transportation. 12 students of the 2nd and 3rd year of the Bachelor's degree program created within the project will participate in an exchange program in European universities.
The project will be implemented through international accreditation of 5 educational programs (4 Bachelor and 1 Master) and modernization of 1 Bachelor educational program in accordance with national standards and Bologna Declaration.
Project participants from Uzbekistan: Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent, Tashkent State Transport University, Tashkent Kimyo International University, Jizzak branch of the National University of Uzbekistan, LLC "Transport Research Center".
Project participants from Europe are: University of Maribor (Slovenia), Polytechnic University of Crete (Greece), Polytechnic University of Madrid (Spain), Polytechnic University of Turin (Italy).
