On March 5, 2026, the Uzbekistan–Hungary Third Rectors’ Forum was held at the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage in Samarkand.
The forum brought together representatives of 14 leading universities from Hungary, including 7 rectors. The delegation of Kimyo International University in Tashkent also actively participated in the event.
As a result of bilateral meetings, cooperation memorandums were signed with University of Sopron and Óbuda University.
In addition, discussions were held and contacts were established with Semmelweis University, Budapest Metropolitan University, Eszterházy Károly Catholic University, Széchenyi István University, and University of Szeged to develop future academic and research cooperation.
