Plov and samsa are very popular and favorite dishes in Uzbekistan. Both of them are an integral part of Uzbek culture and hospitality.

Students from America got acquainted with Uzbek culture and traditional cuisine by participating in a master class on preparing these dishes which was held at Kimyo International University in Tashkent. This experience also promotes the development of intercultural communication and understanding. During the master class, students learned about the history of plov and samsa, their place in Uzbek culture and their cooking styles, and also tried to prepare the dishes by themselves, relying on their own acquired skills. This process gave them deeper knowledge about Uzbek culture and traditional cuisine. We believe that this experience served to strengthen intercultural dialogue.

The master class, conducted by the chefs of the University's Block C kitchen, ended in a friendly atmosphere at the iftar table.
