"Architecture and urban planning" department

History of the department "Architecture and urban planning".

The Department of Architecture and Urban Planning was established by Order No. 87 of the University Rector on July 15, 2020. The first admission to the Bachelor’s degree program in Architecture (Code: 60730100) took place in 2018, and the first graduation ceremony was held in 2022 in three languages of instruction: Uzbek, Russian, and English. The duration of study is 4 years (Bachelor’s degree). The Bachelor’s degree program in Interior Design (Code: 60210400) admitted its first students in 2024. The program is delivered in Uzbek and Russian, with a study duration of 4 years (Bachelor’s degree). All programs are offered on a tuition-fee basis in full-time study mode.

Goals and objectives of the department "Architecture and urban planning"

The primary mission of the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning is to train highly qualified bachelor’s degree specialists who possess advanced professional culture and intellectual capacity, acquire modern knowledge in the fields of architecture, design, and interior design, and develop practical skills in creating, transforming, preserving, reconstructing, adapting, and efficiently utilizing comfortable and safe built environments and their components, as well as conducting research, design, and project management. The Bachelor’s degree programs in Architecture and Interior Design are innovative academic programs that are in high demand not only in Uzbekistan but also internationally among employers. This is confirmed by the consistently high number of applications submitted by prospective students. The programs also provide opportunities to acquire professional knowledge in Uzbek, Russian, and foreign languages. Graduates of the Architecture and Urban Planning and Interior Design programs are prepared to organize and manage projects in the fields of architectural and urban design, as well as interior design. The core subject of their professional activity is the formation of spatial environments essential for human life and activity.
Also, as part of the development of the educational program of the bachelor's degree during the period of study, they are prepared to solve such problems as:

  • Analytical (pre-project analysis);
  • Design and technological (architectural design);
  • Architectural planning and design solution of the residential and public environment;
  • Author's supervision

The goals of the educational program are determined on the basis of the analysis of national standards in the field of education, foreign needs and expectations of stakeholders in professional activities. And it consists in meeting the needs of students to obtain demanded, relevant qualifications and professional competencies, as well as taking into account the focus on the implementation of the strategic objectives of the university.
Today, the field of architecture and urban planning is in demand not only at the national level, but also internationally.
The educational program is designed to train highly qualified personnel for work in industrial, research, international organizations in the field of architecture, engineering, design and urban planning.
The main results of the educational program are:

  • proficiency in graphic and volumetric modeling using modern software packages for two-dimensional and three-dimensional modeling;
  • sketch and demonstration images of objects and the environment in closed and open spaces, skills in color and light transmission of states, moods, as well as the external appearance (color and texture of materials) of the designed objects;
  • formation of a creative concept and its display in preliminary sketches;
  • volumetric compositional solution of the overall exposition of projects;
  • graphic design and production of layouts and models;
  • designing in a specific urban environment and taking into account all the factors influencing the formation of various types of environments;
  • formation of students' skills of self-development and self-education, which will be useful throughout life;
  • formation of a personality capable of mobility in the modern world, critical thinking and physical self-improvement;
  • the ability to freely express their thoughts, ideas, problems and find ways to solve them in the fields of design, architecture, design, as well as the urban environment;
  • ability to use the methods of digital space modeling, creation of three-dimensional space in the form of video visualization;
  • ability to solve the issues of designing residential - public buildings, their complexes;
  • development of the ability for interpersonal social and professional communication in the state, Russian and foreign languages;
  • to develop a competent functional organization of space, the creation of constructive solutions, aesthetics and harmony of the designed objects;
  • develop a complete set of drawings of the designed object, taking into account the requirements of aesthetic expressiveness and functional safety;
  • knowledge of special terminology, basic concepts and theoretical issues of modern architectural design;
  • ability to distinguish buildings in accordance with their space-planning schemes and functional purpose.
  • Upon completion of studies at the university, the graduate of the educational program is awarded the academic degree of bachelor "Architecture" 60730100.

Scientific branch:Theory and History of Art (17.00.09) Biography Since 2020, he has been working at the Kimyo International University in Tashkent. He holds a PhD in Art History. He earned a bachelor’s degree in “Easel Painting” from the KamoliddinBehzod National Institute of Art and Design, as well as a master’s degree in Industrial Design from the Tashkent State Technical University.He is the author of monographs and scientific articles dedicated to conducting scientific-graphic reconstructions of rock art, identifying their content, and preserving their overall composition in space.He is a member of the Creative Association of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan and has participated in several exhibitions organized by the Academy. His paintings are held in private collections. He also conducts research on petroglyphs in Central Asia.

She worked in a number of state design institutes such as: Design Bureau of the Ministry of Higher Education, GIPRO Selkhoz, UzNIPI of Restoration, GlavNPU of Cultural Monuments. She has held positions from simple architect to Chief Project Architect. He is the author of a number of educational buildings of the republic’s universities and the author of the restoration of a number of architectural monuments located in different cities of Uzbekistan and neighboring republics. Member of the Union of Architects of Uzbekistan. Since 2002 he has been engaged in teaching activities. In 2002-2016 worked as a teacher at TASI, from 2017 to 2019. worked as a teacher at the Mirabad College of Architecture and Civil Engineering. Since 2019, she began working at Kimyo International University in Tashkent as a senior lecturer in the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning. She has a number of scientific publications in journals of republican universities, participated as a co-author in the publication of textbooks on the profile.

Biography: Born in 1962 in Tashkent. Graduated from the Samarkand State Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering (SamGASI) in 1987. Since 1987, he has worked at a design institute and design companies. He is the author of numerous architectural projects. Since 1992, he has been a member of the Union of Architects of Uzbekistan. Since 2002, he has taught architecture and design at the Tashkent Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering (TACI), and since 2005, he has taught architecture and design at the Kamoliddin Behzod National Institute of Arts and Design. Since 2018, he has been working at Kimyo International University in Tashkent. In 2023, he received the title of Acting Associate Professor at Kimyo International University in Tashkent. He holds a specialist degree in architecture. He is the author of the textbook "Ergonomics of the Architectural Environment," several teaching aids, and several research articles.

Since 2023, he has been conducting research as an independent researcher at the International Chemical University in Tashkent on the topic of “Suspended walkways in dry and hot climates.” He is the author of several scientific articles and methodological guidelines. In 2024, he completed advanced training at Karabük University, Turkey. He is currently conducting research on three inventions, one of which is in the official examination stage. One of them has already been patented.

She is a co-author of several scientific articles and a patent in the field of designing low-rise energy-efficient buildings. She also has practical experience in architectural design.

In 2020, he began working at KIMYO International University. Received a bachelor's degree in the specialty "Interior Design" and a master's degree in the specialty "Design of the Architectural Environment" at the Tashkent Institute of Architecture and Construction. Author of a number of scientific articles. From 2020 to 2025, he began working part-time as “Head of the Design Department” at the Turon-project group enterprise and implemented several large architectural and construction projects. Currently he founded his own design organization “Pandora design studio”.

In 2017, he received the title of associate professor. In 2022, he was awarded the title of professor. He publishes his articles and theses in domestic and foreign journals and collections. He is the author of a number of textbooks on the topic of "Urban planning and landscape architecture". During his career, he supervised more than 20 master’s dissertations. Participated in the grandees of the republican level. Since 1990, he has been engaged in scientific and pedagogical activities. Under the guidance of the German specialist Gens Jorgen, he conducted research on the topography of the old city of Tashkent. Currently, he is conducting scientific research on the topic of "Principles of improving tourism infrastructure in urban planning of Uzbekistan".

In 2024, she completed advanced training in Turkey in collaboration with Kimyo International Universityin Tashkent and Karabuk University. She is currently conducting research on the topic "Methodology for Forming Territorial 'Design Codes' for Historic Cities of Uzbekistan."

Currently, he works as an associate professor of the Department of “Architecture and Urban Planning” Tashkent International University named after Kimyo. Bachelor of Architecture of TUACE, Master of Architecture of TUACE, (PhD) Doctor of Philosophy, specialty 18.00.01 – "Theory and history of architecture. Reconstruction and restoration of architectural monuments". He conducted scientific research on the History and theory of architecture, Tashkent old city architecture, restoration and reconstruction of architectural monuments. Based on the research results, more scientific outcomes were implemented in practice at the Agency for Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan. He is the author of several monographs and scientific articles.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in “Easel Painting” from the KamoliddinBehzod National Institute of Art and Design, as well as a master’s degree in Industrial Design from the Tashkent State Technical University.He is the author of monographs and scientific articles dedicated to conducting scientific-graphic reconstructions of rock art, identifying their content, and preserving their overall composition in space.He is a member of the Creative Association of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan and has participated in several exhibitions organized by the Academy. His paintings are held in private collections. He also conducts research on petroglyphs in Central Asia.

She has held positions from simple architect to Chief Project Architect. He is the author of a number of educational buildings of the republic’s universities and the author of the restoration of a number of architectural monuments located in different cities of Uzbekistan and neighboring republics. Member of the Union of Architects of Uzbekistan. Since 2002 he has been engaged in teaching activities. In 2002-2016 worked as a teacher at TASI, from 2017 to 2019. worked as a teacher at the Mirabad College of Architecture and Civil Engineering. Since 2019, she began working at Kimyo International University in Tashkent as a senior lecturer in the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning. Since 1987, he has worked at a design institute and design companies. He is the author of numerous architectural projects. Since 1992, he has been a member of the Union of Architects of Uzbekistan. Since 2002, he has taught architecture and design at the Tashkent Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering (TACI), and since 2005, he has taught architecture and design at the Kamoliddin Behzod National Institute of Arts and Design. Since 2018, he has been working at Kimyo International University in Tashkent. In 2023, he received the title of Acting Associate Professor at Kimyo International University in Tashkent. He holds a specialist degree in architecture. He is the author of the textbook "Ergonomics of the Architectural Environment," several teaching aids, and several research articles.

Since 2023, he has been conducting research as an independent researcher at the International Chemical University in Tashkent on the topic of “Suspended walkways in dry and hot climates.” He is the author of several scientific articles and methodological guidelines. In 2024, he completed advanced training at Karabük University, Turkey. He is currently conducting research on three inventions, one of which is in the official examination stage.
