The Department of Chemistry and Biology was established in 2021 in accordance with University Rector’s Order No. 418 dated August 3, 2021.
Today, the Department of Chemistry and Biology is one of the leading departments in the country in training highly qualified master-level biotechnologists. The department actively cooperates with a number of industrial and innovative enterprises, including LLC “Ardent Foods,” LLC “CORALLPHARM,” LLC “INNOVATION IDEAS,” LLC “RIVER MED PHARM,” LLC “RADIKS,” LLC “DOCTOR-D-IVF,” and others.
The department also maintains stable scientific and creative collaboration with leading research institutions of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, including the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry, the Institute of Microbiology, and the Center for Advanced Technologies.

The main goal of the Department of Chemistry and Biology is to create a modern scientific and educational environment that ensures the training of competitive master-level specialists in biotechnology who possess deep fundamental knowledge, practical skills, and research competencies.
The educational process is focused on in-depth study of fundamental biotechnological disciplines, modern research methods, bioprocesses and their industrial applications, as well as on the development of scientific thinking and innovative potential of students.

Mirzarakhmetova Dilbar Tokhtamuratovna- in 1994 graduated from the Department of "Biotechnology" of the Faculty of Biology and Soil at the Tashkent State University, Doctor of Technical Sciences in the specialty 02.00.17 – «Technology and biotechnology of processing, storage and reprocessing of agricultural and food products» and 03.00.01 – «Biochemistry» (2016). Work experience - 36 years, teaching experience - 23 years. Since 2021, she has been the Head of “Chemistry and Biology” department at KIUT. Dilbar is a leading scientist in Uzbekistan in the field of Food Biotechnology. She develops theoretical and applied aspects of controlled cultivation of yeasts and microalgae, heterogeneous enzymatic catalysis, as well as agrobiotechnologies for the cultivation of medicinal plants and the production of flavonoids. Back in 1994, she revealed that immobilized yeast enzymes can convert toxic fusel alcohols in alcoholic beverages into alkyl fructosides and esters. Subsequent work allowed her to expand the possibilities of enzymatic transformations and propose a technology that allows her to change the profile of volatile components of drinks and improve the tasting and hygienic properties of beverages. She has published more than 60 scientific papers, including 11 patents, published more than 50 articles and abstracts in specialized journals (15 in foreign editions) and conference materials. Under her supervision, 3 PhDs were defended.
Scientific interests: Renewable energy technologies, photovoltaic elements, synthesis of polymers and their analysis, polymers based on perovskite. Scientific direction: polymer physical chemistry Biography Abilkasimov Akmal Bekturdiyevich graduated from the Department of Organic Chemistry of the Faculty of Chemistry of the National University of Uzbekistan in 2014. Master's student. From 2022, he is a senior teacher of the Department of Biology and Chemistry of the Kimyo International University in Tashkent 18 years of work experience. Pedagogical activity 15 years. In 2022, he was awarded the Shukhrat medal for his achievements in pedagogical activity. Currently, he is engaged in the synthesis of photovoltaic polymers based on perovskite at the Research Institute of Physics and Chemistry of Polymers, Academy of Sciences of RUz.
Dauletbaev Asilbek Dauletbaevich graduated from the Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute (Nukus branch) in 2018 (Medical and Preventive work). In 2020 he completed his clinical residency in the specialty "Clinical Epidemiology". In 2022, he graduated from the magistracy at the Tashkent Medical Academy (Epidemiology). Work experience - 5 years, teaching experience - 3 years. Since 2021, a teacher at the Department of “Chemistry and Biology”, KIUT. Scientific research is devoted to the study of the prevalence of cervical cancer among girls and women in the Republic of Uzbekistan. He has published more than 14 scientific papers, including 3 articles and 11 abstracts in foreign and local journals and conference materials.

Research interests: development of scientifically based new compositions and technologies of finished dosage formsб, study of technological parameters of medicinal substances and drugs of pharmaceutical origin. Scientific branch: Drug technology (15.00.01) Biography In 2012, she received a PhD degree in pharmaceutical sciences at the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute and began working at the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute in the area of industrial technology of medicines. He has the title of associate professor in the specialty “Drug Technology” at the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute. In 2024, she received a Doctor of Science degree from the Tashkent Research Institute of Vaccine and Serum DSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences. She has a diploma “Pharmacist” from the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute. She is the author of several scientific articles and the author of textbooks on industrial drug technology. Participated in several scientific grants for the development of new finished medicines and their introduction into production. Co-author of several patents for the production of new medicines in the field of pharmaceutics and pharmacology.

Graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry of Tashkent State Pedagogical University in 2016 with a Bachelor's degree. Completed a Master's degree in Bioorganic Chemistry at the National University of Uzbekistan in 2018. Graduated in 2019 with a specialization in Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics from the Tashkent Institute for Advanced Medical Studies. In 2019, completed professional training in ELISA and PCR laboratory techniques. Worked as a laboratory physician at the Tashkent Regional AIDS Prevention and Control Center from 2020 to 2025.

Since 2025, she has been working at the International University of Chemistry in Tashkent. In 2022–2023, she served as Deputy Director for Production at “INNOVATION IDEAS” LLC. In 2019–2021, she headed the Production Department at “Green BioTech” JV LLC. From 2018 to 2020, she worked as a Leading Researcher at the Institute of Microbiology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In 2017–2018, she held the position of Senior Researcher at the same institute. From 2017 to 2019, she served as an Associate Professor at the Department of Biotechnology, Tashkent State Technical University named after I. Karimov. In 2016, she obtained the Doctor of Biological Sciences (DSc) degree in the specialty “03.00.04 – Microbiology and Virology”, and in 2018, she received the academic title of Senior Research Fellow in the same specialty. From 2012 to 2016, she worked as a Junior Researcher at the Institute of Microbiology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Research interests: creation and improvement of technologies for obtaining substances of medicinal products, biologically active food and cosmetic additives. Scientific branch: Bioorganic chemistry (02.00.10), technology of biologically active substances. Biography Since 2022, he joined Kimyo International University in Tashkent. He holds a Doctor of Technical Sciences (DSc) and is a professor. His primary place of employment is the State Institution "Intellectual Property Center" under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan. He has 30 years of work experience and 28 years of research and teaching experience (including 8 years of teaching). His research interests include the study of plant material extraction processes, membrane purification processes, drying processes for biologically active substances, and chemical modification of low-molecular biologically active synthetic compounds. He has published over 130 scientific papers, including two textbooks, two monographs, 12 patents, and over 40 articles.
