Ibn Sina’s insights and student’s achievement: A scientific contribution on Epilepsy
❓ How did the great scholar Ibn Sina approach the treatment of epilepsy more than a thousand years ago?
A student of Kimyo International University in Tashkent, Farrukhjon Yoqubov G‘ofur og‘li, sought to answer this very question by thoroughly studying the renowned work “The Canon of Medicine” (“Al-Qonun fit-tibb”). As a result, he successfully presented his research on the international stage.
At the recently held international scientific-practical conference “Abu Ali Ibn Sina (Avicenna): The Jewel of the East – World Heritage”, Farrukhjon’s presentation on “Avicenna’s Practical Views on Epilepsy” drew strong interest from the audience. His report shed light on Avicenna’s ancient methods of treatment and their relevance to modern medicine.
This achievement was made possible thanks to the guidance of his scientific supervisor — Doctor of Science, Head of the Department of Clinical Disciplines, Lola Anvarovna Abdurakhimova. Under her mentorship, the research was carried out, and Farrukhjon was awarded the title of “Best Young Speaker” at the conference.
