International Cooperation: KIUT and UTMB Discuss the Future of Green Energy
Kimyo International University in Tashkent (KIUT) hosted a joint scientific seminar organized by the Departments of Exact Sciences and Energy and Applied Sciences, focusing on the latest developments in renewable energy and international research collaboration.
The keynote speaker was Dr. Yusuf Khimri, who presented the prospects for cooperation between Kimyo International University in Tashkent (KIUT) and Tahri Mohamed Bechar University (UTMB, Algeria) in the field of sustainable energy technologies.
The seminar focused on some of the most promising areas of the global energy transition, including solar and wind power, as well as green hydrogen production, which is increasingly recognized as one of the clean fuels of the future.
During his presentation, Dr. Khimri shared the outcomes of research conducted in Algeria, highlighting advanced approaches to wind resource assessment, techno-economic evaluation of renewable energy projects, and the selection of optimal locations for hydrogen infrastructure.
Participants also explored the integration of digital technologies into modern energy systems. Discussions covered the application of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), and smart energy management systems to improve the efficiency and sustainability of energy production. In addition, the seminar introduced state-of-the-art laboratory facilities used for testing solar panels, fuel cells, and other renewable energy technologies.
The meeting concluded with the identification of several key areas for future collaboration, including academic mobility programs for students and faculty members, joint supervision of PhD candidates, collaborative research initiatives, and pilot projects combining Algeria's expertise in renewable energy with Uzbekistan's growing scientific and technological potential.
The partnership between KIUT and UTMB is expected to strengthen international academic cooperation, promote innovative research, and contribute to the development of highly qualified professionals capable of addressing the global challenges of sustainable energy..
