On August 14, members of the delegation headed by the founder of Kimyo International University Tashkent (KIUT) Alisher Vakhobov visited Busan National University (PNU) and met with President Choi Jae Weon. During the meeting, a memorandum on a launch of an educational program based on the 2+2 formula was signed between the universities.
According to the new joint program, students will study at KIUT for the first year and develop their ability to study in English. Having reached the required level of language proficiency, they will have the opportunity to continue the next three years at PNU and receive a double diploma. That is, upon completion of the program, they will receive diplomas from KIUT and PNU.
In the future, it was decided to implement the 2+2 program in other areas in addition to the Faculty of Medicine. Students will be able to choose from a wide range of specialties. It is also planned to establish an exchange of doctors, professors and students between the two universities. Thanks to this cooperation, the qualifications of students will be improved and the exchange of knowledge in the field of medicine will be ensured. In addition, Pusan National University plans to provide employment opportunities for students in cooperation with the local industry.
During the visit, the KIUT delegation also visited a Hospital of Pusan National University in Yangsan. The delegation members were introduced to the radiology department, the outpatient pharmacy, the diagnostic department, the children's hospital, and the rehabilitation centers. They also met with Dr. Jang Chul-Xun, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Pusan National University. During the meeting, an agreement was reached on further development of cooperation in the field of mobility of doctors and students between the parties. Further, the issue of creating an opportunity for KIUT students to undergo an internship at the Faculty of Medicine at Pusan National University was discussed. The President of Pusan National University plans to visit KIUT in October of this year and hold further discussions on cooperation plans.
