
Official Visit of Kimyo International University in Tashkent Delegation to KONKUK University
A delegation from Kimyo International University in Tashkent, led by the university’s founder Professor Alisher Vakhabov, is currently on an official visit to the Republic of Korea. As part of the trip, the delegation visited KONKUK University (KU), one of the world’s prestigious higher education institutions located in Seoul.
The guests were warmly welcomed by Professor Yeom Jae Ung, Vice President for International Affairs; Mr. Woo Hyung Lee, Director of the Office of International Relations; and Assistant Director Mr. Lim Cheol Kwon. The discussions focused on expanding bilateral cooperation, academic exchange, joint degree programs, and collaborative research opportunities.
Background: KONKUK University ranks within the 721–730 range in the QS World University Rankings 2025 and is recognized for its quality education, innovative approach, and strong international standing. The university operates two main faculties offering English-language instruction for international students:
1. International Business
2. English Language
The university leadership also announced plans to launch a new Faculty of Artificial Intelligence in the near future.
During the meeting, KONKUK University representatives introduced a two-week summer educational program for international students. Students from Kimyo International University in Tashkent have been invited to participate, offering them a valuable opportunity to gain international experience.
In addition, both institutions agreed to initiate a 1+1 Master’s program, allowing students to study in both countries and graduate with dual degrees, enhancing their competitiveness in the global job market.
To further strengthen the strategic partnership, a memorandum of understanding between the two universities is planned to be signed in the second half of this year.
