On April 11, a large-scale big “Zakovat” was held at Kimyo International University in Tashkent.
The event was organized by the university’s Department of History, in collaboration with the Department of Spirituality and participants of the TV game show “Zakovat.”
The event was titled “Big Zakovat” because students and university staff competed in separate categories. The tournament was held as part of events dedicated to the 689th anniversary of the birth of Sahibkiron Amir Temur, and its theme was “The History of Amir Temur”.
The tournament consisted of 26 questions on Amir Temur’s legacy. It brought together 14 student teams—nearly 100 students from various academic fields—and 9 teams composed of deans, department heads, division leaders, and faculty members.
The event was further energized by a special performance from Benchmark Orchestra of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republic of Uzbekistan, along with appearances by Lieutenant Colonel Muqimjon Mahmudov and Captain Dilshodbek Jalolov, an officer of the Ministry and a finalist of the second season of the “X-Factor” project.
In the staff competition, the “Temuriylar” (Temurids) team—made up of department heads—took first place. The “Tibbiyot” (Medicine) team, comprised of heads of medical departments, came second, while the “Muhandis” (Engineers) team—composed of heads from engineering and exact sciences—claimed third.
Among students, the “Terma” (United Team) squad, made up of students from various departments, took first place. The “Renaissance” and “Sharq Sultoni” teams, composed of part-time students from the history department, earned second and third places respectively. Additionally, four other teams with high scores received awards in special categories.
At the end of the event, the winners were awarded valuable historical books about Amir Temur and the Temurids—including a collection of nearly 200 books across 11 titles—as well as various other prizes.
