On July 21, 2025, the delegation of Tashkent Kimyo International University (KIUT), currently on a working visit to Portugal, visited the Instituto Politécnico de Viana do Castelo (IPVC) located in the city of Viana do Castelo.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Portugal, prospects for bilateral cooperation, existing academic opportunities, and issues related to the exchange of experience in the field of education. The event was opened with a welcoming speech by the President of IPVC, Carlos Rodrigues. The Rector of KIUT, Professor Karimjon Akhmedjanov, gave a presentation on the university’s achievements in education and international cooperation. At the end of the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the two universities.
According to the memorandum, the parties agreed to continue their collaboration within the framework of the Erasmus+ program, exchange experiences to improve educational processes, organize faculty exchange and professional development, and implement student exchange programs in “2+2” and “1+1” formats for undergraduate and master's levels. They also agreed to jointly organize international conferences, symposia, and roundtable discussions, and to support each other in scientific research.
