On May 15, 2025, Kimyo University Hospital, operating under Kimyo International University in Tashkent, hosted a significant event — the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Korean Orthopedic Association (KOA), one of South Korea’s leading medical institutions. This marks a new chapter in the development of international collaboration in medicine. A delegation led by the President of KOA, Dr. Kim Wan-Koo, visited the university hospital and familiarized themselves with its modern medical equipment and services. During the visit, both sides discussed prospects for implementing joint medical aid projects.
As part of the partnership between KOA and Kimyo University Hospital, the two institutions plan to launch joint programs aimed at improving the quality of healthcare services in Uzbekistan, facilitating the exchange of expertise among qualified doctors, and advancing medical education.
Within the framework of the visit, a ceremonial handover of medical supplies from the Korean Orthopedic Association was also held. It is expected that this event will be covered by major media outlets in South Korea.
This initiative will undoubtedly elevate the development of medical cooperation between South Korea and Uzbekistan to a new level. The visit is also expected to significantly expand the capacity of Kimyo University Hospital to provide international-standard medical services.
