Korea University and Kimyo International University in Tashkent: New Areas for Cooperation
Korea University, ranked 52nd in the QS World University Rankings 2027, and Kimyo International University in Tashkent are exploring opportunities to expand their partnership beyond traditional student exchange programs.
One of the key areas for cooperation could be joint research in Artificial Intelligence and ICT. As Uzbekistan continues to advance its digital transformation and AI industry, the research capacities of the two universities could be combined through joint projects, researcher exchanges, and the practical application of scientific developments.
Another promising area is biotechnology, medicine, and healthcare. Cooperation could include faculty and researcher exchanges, joint research projects, as well as academic mobility opportunities for master’s and doctoral students.
Particular potential lies in medical technologies, biomedical engineering, precision medicine, and AI-driven healthcare — areas where the research expertise of both universities can complement each other.
The next stage of this partnership could go beyond academic exchange toward a stronger university–research–industry model, transforming joint research into technologies and solutions with real-world applications.
