Female Students Receive Nearly 75% of KIUT Scholarships
An analysis of educational grants awarded by Kimyo International University in Tashkent (KIUT) between 2021 and 2026 reveals a notable trend: female students account for nearly three times as many grant recipients as their male counterparts.
Over the past five academic years, 1,017 KIUT students have received educational grants. Female students account for 74.6% of recipients, compared with 25.4% for male students.
This figure places female representation among grant recipients well above the 50% benchmark commonly associated with gender parity. The results highlight the strong academic engagement and achievements of female students across the university.
Which academic programmes lead in grant awards?
The highest numbers of grant recipients are enrolled in General Medicine, Primary Education, and International Economic Relations. This reflects particularly strong participation in the university's grant programmes among students pursuing medical, educational, and economics-related disciplines.
Another significant trend is the steady increase in the number of grant recipients. In the 2021–2022 academic year, 95 students received grants. By 2025–2026, that figure had risen to 299 — more than tripling over five years.
These figures demonstrate that KIUT's educational grants serve not only as a means of recognising talented students but also as an indicator of female students' strong academic performance and growing leadership in higher education.
