Japanese Designer Shingo Sato Holds a Masterclass at KIUT
Kimyo International University in Tashkent hosted a fashion design masterclass led by Japanese designer and instructor Shingo Sato.
Shingo Sato is known for his “Transformational Reconstruction” technique. Unlike traditional flat pattern-making, this approach develops garment construction directly on a dress form in 3D, allowing design lines, shapes, and volumes to become part of the garment’s structure.
During the masterclass, Shingo Sato demonstrated the technique in practice. Participants explored how geometric and free-form lines can transform a basic pattern into a complex design and learned new approaches to working with garment shape and construction.
Shingo Sato has presented his methods through workshops and masterclasses in Japan, Italy, the United Kingdom, the United States, Colombia, and other countries.
