Japanese Language Department Opens at KIUT with the Participation of the Ambassador of Japan
Kenji Hirata, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan, visited Kimyo International University in Tashkent and took part in the opening ceremony of the Japanese Language Department.
The event also featured a discussion with representatives of Junior Chamber International (JCI), Future Dialogue Junior Chamber, and students from KEIO University and KIUT.
KEIO University students are currently visiting KIUT as part of the Student Mobility Program. During their stay, they are taking part in cultural exchange activities and debates on international education. KEIO University is ranked 213th globally in the QS World University Rankings 2027.
JCI is an international organization that brings together young leaders in more than 100 countries. Its work focuses on developing leadership skills among young people and supporting initiatives that contribute to society.
The discussions focused on the importance of listening to young people’s ideas and proposals to improve the quality of education and taking their perspectives into account in education-related decision-making. Participants also discussed the role of young people in society and the importance of being actively engaged in social issues.
During the meeting with the Ambassador, particular attention was given to developing the university’s education system and strengthening professional training through cooperation with Japan.
At the newly opened department, students will have the opportunity to learn Japanese from international teachers. KIUT’s partner companies in Japan, AJIBIZ and Oukaway, are expected to support short-term internships and employment opportunities for students who achieve a strong command of the Japanese language.
