KIUT and Pittsburg State University Discuss Prospects for Cooperation in Practice-Oriented Education
A delegation from Kimyo International University in Tashkent (KIUT), led by its Founder, Professor Alisher Vahobov, visited Crossland College of Technology at Pittsburg State University, located in Kansas, USA.
Pittsburg State University has extensive experience in practice-oriented education, engineering technologies, and training specialists in close cooperation with industry. Several of its technology programs hold international ABET accreditation, while the university's research expertise in polymer and plastics engineering has also been recognized in U.S. university rankings.
During the visit, accompanied by Dr. Andrew Klenke and Dr. Byron McKay, the KIUT delegation explored the university's modern laboratories and the activities of spin-off companies that help transform academic research and innovations into commercial applications.
The discussions resulted in preliminary agreements on inviting American professors to KIUT, organizing short-term research internships for KIUT faculty members at Pittsburg State University, and conducting joint lectures and masterclasses.
The parties also discussed opportunities for KIUT students to undertake internships at U.S. companies, develop joint projects with industrial partners, and introduce dual education and Work-Based Learning practices that integrate academic studies with practical workplace experience.
