KIUT Fashion Design Students Begin a 10-Day Practical Training Programme in China
Fashion Design students from Kimyo International University in Tashkent (KIUT) have begun a 10-day practical training programme at Hebei Art and Design Academy in China. The programme officially opened today with a welcoming ceremony.
The student delegation is led by Deputy Dean Mirsobit Odilov. The visit offers aspiring designers an opportunity to experience an international academic environment, broaden their professional perspectives, and explore different approaches to creative education.
China holds a prominent position in the global fashion and textile industry. As one of the world's largest producers of textiles and clothing, the country combines modern manufacturing capabilities with a rich artistic heritage shaped by centuries of silk production, embroidery, traditional craftsmanship, and costume design.
Established in 2002 and located in Hebei Province, Hebei Art and Design Academy offers education in a range of creative disciplines, including fashion design, fine arts, digital art, and animation. The institution also supports research activities related to fashion and costume design.
One of the distinctive features of Chinese design is its ability to connect traditional artistic heritage with contemporary materials, technologies, and aesthetics. Silk textiles, intricate patterns, colour combinations, and traditional garment construction offer valuable sources of inspiration for emerging designers.
International practical training provides more than exposure to a different educational system. It encourages students to approach their creative work from new cultural perspectives and develop a deeper understanding of how design reflects history, identity, and innovation.
For KIUT, the 10-day programme represents another step towards strengthening international academic cooperation, developing practice-oriented creative education, and providing students with opportunities to engage with global design traditions.
Further updates from the programme, including students' experiences and activities, will be shared in upcoming publications.
